UConn SECRET is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary rotational Chemistry research experience summer program for high school students. In the course of a week, students will work with five faculty members at the UConn Chemistry Department.Training will include safety instruction, scientific background information, and research experience. Students will gain an appreciation for and valuable exposure to state-of-the art methodologies in Computational Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, and Materials Science.

Eligibility: Must Have Taken at least One Year of High School Chemistry. This is a competitive program, consisting of a cohort of 10 students.

Costs: There are no fees associated with this program. Students must provide their own daily transportation to and from campus and bring money for their lunch. A typical meal with beberage at the UConn cafeteria ranges from $8 to $10.
